Because scared Ciel!Astral seeking for Sebastian!Ryoga’s help somehow calms my soul. :/
I thought of a scene in the KuroZexal AU, in which Yuma teams up with bad people, thinking it will help Astral cope with his depression of losing his parents. However, when Ryoga is about to kill their leader, Yuma steps up and says it's for Astral's own good. Poor Astral has to choose if he has to spare the leader for Yuma, or kill Yuma and the leader, as they have seen Ryoga's true form. ;A;

omG YES THO. Yuma would 10000% do something like this. Like Astral used to smile and laugh a lot when they were little, but he never does anymore unless he’s sassing Ryoga and it hurts Yuma like SO BAD because Astral just doesn’t seem happy and he wants him to be happy, no matter what he has to do. So he starts trying to figure out how he can help Astral and even though he feels guilty about it, he ends up eavesdropping on Ryoga and Astral’s private conversation and finds out a little about what Astral is trying to accomplish and he hears them talk a little about how Astral is trying to find the people responsible for murdering his parents and kidnapping him (and all the other children; like there were other children with Astral but they were all murdered before Ryoga ever found Astral and Astral feels guilty about and feels like he has to take revenge for them as well).
And like Yuma finds out that Astral wants to get rid of this cult of people who are kidnapping and murdering children and he gets super scared because Astral could get himself killed and Yuma doesn’t want to lose him. So, he starts doing his own research into things and uses his own connections and eventually finds like this seemingly nice group of people that seems to know about the cult and are even willing to help Yuma (for a price, of course, but Yuma’s family is rich so whatever pft), but then they do a bunch of bad things and by the time Yuma realizes that he shouldn’t be around them, he’s already in too deep to get out so he just sticks with them and then the worst thing ever happens and they all run into Astral and Ryoga.
And the situation comes up where Ryoga HAS to transform into his Barian form and Yuma sees it and Astral is just…horrified. They both are. Barians are supposed to be these demonic creatures and Yuma doesn’t understand what the hell Astral is doing. Like he doesn’t want to believe Astral would do this (because this is TREASON and Astral could be publicly executed if word about this got out), but the proof is right there and Yuma is just “…Why? Why is this happening? How can Shark be a Barian?!”
And Astral doesn’t know what to do. Ryoga kills anyone who sees his Barian form to protect Astral (like it was something Ryoga decided to do on his own and while Astral didn’t really like it, he didn’t try to argue because it made sense to get rid of any potential traitors), but…this is Yuma. Yuma’s his cousin, his best friend, and he loves him and could never even think about him dying and he’s wide-eyed and in shock and just “You aren’t…supposed to be here, Yuma.”
THEN, Ryoga (Nasch, at this point I suppose) finishes what he started (kills the leader after getting over the initial surprise at seeing Yuma there and everything) and like he knows how much Astral cares about Yuma, but his number one priority is Astral and if protecting him and fulfilling his end of the contract means he has to kill someone Astral cares about, then he has to do it. But this is still Ryoga, now. He’s just a giant purple loser and wouldn’t do anything to purposely make Astral cry if he could avoid it. So he’s like “You already know what I do to people who see my true form, but I’m leaving the decision up to you. What do you want me to do, Astral?”
And Astral just gives this really short-tempered “Nothing. Take us home.” because he’s upset. He didn’t want Yuma to know and now he does and he’s thinks Yuma might turn his back on him. But he refuses to hurt Yuma no matter what.

Astral accidentally touching Nasch’s baria lapis while he’s in Barian mode and Nasch has to back up for a moment and breath because it felt reeeeeally good. Then it leads to questions because Astral thinks he somehow hurt him and Nasch has to have an awkward alien sex talk with him.
Nasch is a powerful Barian lord who collects shark plushies because he’s a loser and this is the man Astral has entrusted his life to.
and now he knows why Yuma calls him “Shark”
KuroXZexal: A normal day
A very normal day for Astral and Ryoga.
Starring Astral as Ciel, Ryoga/Nasch as Sebastian, Yuma as Lizzy/Elizabeth, Cathy as Mey-Rin, Takashi as Finnian/Finny, Gauche as Bardroy, Rokujuro as Tanaka, and Vector as Grell
Slight BekuNasch and some Unawareshipping. Contains extremely easy-to-fluster Astral, Smug Ryoga, Green-minded Yuma, OOC-ish Durbe, and some cute moments of the Unawareshipping-pair.
“I don’t want to~” Nasch replied, grinning rather cheekily. “I’m bored~ You should entertain me until I’m sufficiently satisfied~”
Astral’s cheeks were scarlet.
“…N-nasch, stop teasing me and let go already!”
Though he struggled, it was useless. Nasch kept him flush against his chest. It was as awkward as it was embarrassing, so Astral felt.
His guard seemed unaffected by it all, the bastard.
“Tsk tsk. Young master needs to study his dance lessons with me more.”
“Nasch!”

also, Ryoga is 10000% being a little shit and he knows it.
I’m trying to figure out an outfit for Ryoga for the KuroxZexal AU.
Like I just cheat with Astral, but Ryoga wouldn’t look right in something like Sebastian wears and to fit the vague impression of a timeline I have for this, he couldn’t just wear what he does in the show. I mean, when he’s in his Barian form it doesn’t matter (because alien), but while pretending to be human, he would want to conform to whatever fashion style was current so they don’t stick out.
And that’s extra important here because unlike with the Kuro universe, most everyone in this AU know of the Barians’ existence and fear them. It’s another reason Astral keeps his right eye covered because if anyone saw the mark on his eye, they would know right away that he had sold his soul to a Barian and he would likely be executed for treason (or worse). I doubt Nasch would let anyone that saw the mark live (so there’s another reason to keep his eye covered), but regardless, the least attention they draw to themselves, the better.
I’m getting way off-topic but…
The Barians are immortal (I assume they were in the show, too), but in this AU, they’re more like the demons. They can initiate Faustian-type contracts (similar to Sebastian’s) with anyone they please in exchange for getting something in return (however, it doesn’t neccesarily have to be a soul; the price for their power can be anything) and they can’t die so easily. So, Ryoga could be shot, stabbed, have a limb sliced off, or have his throat slit, but he wouldn’t just up and die. Depending on the severity of the injuries, he might be out of commission for a bit, but he wouldn’t be dead. (And really, I think he would be most vulnerable in his Barian form despite that being his strongest.)
But uhm….yeah. ANYWAY, Ryoga needs some kind of outfit better suited to the vague time period I have going for this. For some reason, I see him with his hair in a ponytail anytime I try to imagine him in tailcoats…
If anyone has any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
